Toronto After Dark Deadline
By Staff

<Toronto After Dark>

(July 17, 2012 - Toronto, Ontario) Thinking of submitting your horror, sci-fi, action or cult short or feature film to the 7th Annual Toronto After Dark Film Festival? Time's up this Friday so it's time to stop thinking and time to start doing. In a poll of local filmgoers, Toronto After Dark was also voted Runner-Up for Best Film Festival in the City and this year's event promises to be even better. The schedule has been expanded to nine nights starting on October 28 and the venue will be Toronto's beautifully restored Bloor Cinema, the historic movie theatre that counts Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith and Edgar Wright amongst its fans. But... the final deadline is this Friday, July 20.

There is some minor news if you're one of those filmmakers who has spent so much time working in the world of sci-fi that time and deadlines have no meaning. As long as you enter your details online by this Friday, you will have until August 3 for your screener to actually arrive in Toronto.

And even better news for filmmakers who want to avoid costly shipping costs altogether, as an alternative to DVDs, the festival also now accepts digital online screeners using any video hosting site of your choice! All entry details can be found at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival website.

When organizers say Final, they mean Final. Sort of... The Early Bird deadline was June 8, the next deadline was June 29, the final deadline is now just a few days away, July 20. But even then, you will catch a break if you use the Withoutabox system, where the deadline for WAB submissions is July 27.

This is the film festival renowned director John Landis called "a fabulous launching pad for independent genre film." So, what are you waiting for? This fall your film could be onscreen in Toronto and reviewed by Northernstars. It doesn't get much better than that.
