Tanya Allen started thinking about a career in acting when she was just a child and when still in her teens was given the chance to spend two summers at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She became addicted to performing. Fans of thr quirky series, The Newsroom wil recognize her for her role as Audrey, the intern with attitude. Her first break, after a series of small roles came when she was cast in the title role of Lyddie in the made-for-TV drama about Lyddie Worthen, an 1860s teenager who leaves her family's debt-ridden farm in eastern Ontario to work in a cotton mill.
