Nathaniel Arcand is a Plains Cree (Nehiyaw) from the Alexander First Nation Reserve. Bitten by the acting bug at just 5 years of age when he saw a Bruce Lee movie, he was discovered by a talent agent and two weeks later he had his first professional job. He had acted in school before that. A small break came when he was cast in the role of Tree-Climber in 1994's Savage Land but it wasn't until he landed a role in the television series North of 60, playing William MacNeil, that his career really took off. He plays Scott Cardinal on the series, Heartland.
