William Emerson "Will" Arnett briefly attended Lakefield College School in Lakefield, Ontario and then attended the Subway Academy II which allowed him to take theatre classes at Toronto's Tarragon Theatre. He eventually graduated from Leaside High School then moved to Montreal to complete his studies at Concordia University, but only stayed for one semester. After appearing in various Canadian commercials he moved to New York to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre. He began his professional acting career on stage in New York.
