b. April 16, 1964 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

Boyd Banks decided he had had it with high school so he cashed in a lot of empties, bought a very used car and dropped out to pursue a career in show business. He was just 17 years old. Having won a contest for Best Stand-Up Comedian in Edmonton, Alberta, Boyd was encouraged and after spending a few years doing comedy in Vancouver and working in the Yuk Yuk's circuit, he left in 1991 deciding he wanting to concentrate on acting. He now makes his home in Toronto.
