Frédéric Barry was known as Fred Barry for much of his adult life. His professional debut came in 1914 when he was 26 and joined the Théâtre Canadien-Français. Over his career he performed in both dramatic and comic roles and moved easily from stage, to the then new radio industry and later, although rarely, into film.
