Melanie Caines is a graduate of Sir Wilfred Grenfell
College's School of Fine Arts Theatre program in Corner Brook. She is usually associated with Theatre Newfoundland Labrador (THL). Appearing in the award-winning play Tempting Providence by playwright Robert Chafe, Caines played 13 female characters.
