Michael Chiasson became the Artistic Animateur for the Resource Centre for the Arts Theatre Company in 1998. He was behind the production of such plays as Funicular by Fran Locke, Empty Girl by Robert Chafe and Power of the Unemployed by Kathryn Welbourn and Chris Brookes. He also brought in children's theatre including Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! by Frank Barry and Amanda Greenleaf by Ed Kavanagh. Under his lead, the St. John's theatre has continued its original dedication to promoting and encouraging local playwrights as well as actors and directors.
