Amanda Crew got her first break when she was 18 playing Tanis McTaggart on the YTV teen dramedy series 15/Love. She made some guest appearances on shows like Life As We Know It and Smallville before signing on to play Carrie Miller on the CTV series Whistler, for which she won Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series at the Vancouver-based Leo Awards. Her Hollywood break came with a role in the 2006 film Final Destination 3.
