Gail Dahms was working in a French language version of South Pacific when she was spotted by an executive at Axe Records. She was still in high school when she signed a 5 year recording contract with the label. She had one hit, "Can't We Somehow", in 1976 but continued to work as a singer and actor. She is probably best known for her role in a Smiles & Chuckles Turtles chocolate commercial where she plays a Marilyn Monroe character who dances with turtles and sings the line "Oooo, I love Turtles".
