Rockliffe Fellowes in a scan from a page of Famous Film Folk in 1925, now part of The Northern Stars Collection. Fellowes grew up and went to school in Ottawa and then attended Bishop's Collegiate School in Lennoxville, Québec. He had an extremely strong career on stage, but quit to work in the silent movies. His first production for the Fox Company won him a large and immediate following. He was one of the last of the more prominent actors to leave New York for Hollywood where he also lived. His stage experience and strong voice allowed him to survive the transition from movies to talkies.
