Philip Granger
b.

<Philip Granger>

Philip Granger won a Gemini Award in 1994 for Best Guest Appearance on the television series Neon Rider. Granger is also an instructor at the New Image College of Fine Arts in Vancouver, a career sideline that came out of his own beginnings as an actor. He spent
ten years training in programs led by Stella Adler (To the Actor); Robert Lewis (Method or Madness); George Shadanoff, who is the founder of the Chekov Players, and Brian Reese, the famed Los Angeles acting coach. Following his extensive training he co-founded The Naked Stage at the Cassandra Gaylor Theatre, producing original works, one of which was In The Final, which later became a feature film starring Dennis Leary. This was just one of many successful plays nurtured by Granger and playwright Bruce McKintosh. Granger was awarded the Hollywood Drama Logue Award for best director and then went on to win the Hollywood Drama Logue Award for best actor in the play Wormwood. He also won the highly acclaimed Los Angeles Theatre Alliance Award for best new director with the play San Antonio Sunset. Starting in 2008, he has directed a series of short films, releasing seven in 2009 alone.
