Frank Heron

b. March 1, 1925 in Park  Ridge, New Jersey
d. September 14, 1999

Although born in the United States, Fank Heron moved to Canada and began his career in radio on Toronto's CFRB. In 1943, he moved to Montreal joining the CBC as an announcer and later a producer of CBC Radio Variety. During World War II, he went overseas with a troop show that included Johnny Wayne and Frank Shuster entertaining the troops in England and Europe. Aside from his work as Producer, he and his wife Dorothy Heron co-hosted a children's show on CBC-TV and radio for 18 years and he continued appearances outside CBC performing on stage. He made an appearance in the CBC series, Seaway and showed up in a small handful of movies. Both Frank and Dorothy Heron retired and moved to Thousand Oaks, California where they opened a bookstore. In 1992, they moved to Scotsdale, Arizona and then in 1996 they returned to Canada settling in Grimsby, south of Hamilton, Ontario.
