Ron James is, quite simply, one of the funniest people you could ever hope to meet. James starred as Benny "Blackfly" Broughton in the two seasons of the comedy series, Blackfly. Born in Glace Bay, his family later moved to Halifax when James was still very young. He grew up there and attended Acadia University, studying history and political science with the intention of becoming a history teacher. While taking classes in the University's theatre program, he came under the influence of the head of the program, Helen Starr Boggs, and decided there might be a future for him beyond the classroom.
