Paul Johansson was an avid athlete and took after his father, a former NHL player, but in an intirely different sport, basketball. After playing on the Canadian National team and taking his University to the Canadian College Championship game, he began contemplating a professional career, but decided he wanted to be an actor. He made his Hollywood debut on the soap opera Santa Barbara which was an auspicious beginning. Paul has expanded his work in film to include screenwriting and directing. For example, he wrote and directed the acclaimed 19-minute film short, Conversations in Limbo, which opened the Toronto Short Film Festival. He was recently awarded two Emmys for the made-for-television film he wrote and directed, The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie. He is best known for his role as Dan Scott in the long running series, One Tree Hill. Paul Johansson lives in Los Angeles.
