Sook-Yin Lee above on the right in a publicity still directing the movie The Year of the Carnivore. Lee is a multi-talented musician, actor, filmmaker, television host and producer. She first came to national attention as the lead singer of Bob's Your Uncle. She has released several solo albums, performed in a wide range of theatre, film and television projects, and in 1995 became a VJ for MuchMusic. After leaving Much, she had a featured role in the film version of the stage musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch and played the romantic lead in the Canadian Film Centre-produced feature The Art of Woo. Her appearance in the feature, Shortbus, which was shot in 2004, caused an uproar. In took a small letter-writing campaign from such notables as Yoko Ono, David Cronenberg and Francis Ford Coppola to get reluctant CBC executives to agree that she should could participate in the film. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2006.
