Colin Van Loon's first tried acting in grade 6 when he played "Injun Joe" in his elementary school's production of Huck Finn. A few years later, he found himself in a line up to be an extra for the ABC/Hallmark co-production Dreamkeeper. After some high school theater, Aaron James Sorenson, director, writer and producer asked Colin to audition for his film Hank Williams First Nation, landing the role after reading for the part of Jacob Fox.
