Rachel McAdams enjoyed being in the spotlight from an early age and entered the world of competitive skating when she was just four years old. Although she would remain on the ice well into her teens, the constant competition played havoc with her nerves and she began to look to the stage as an outlet for her creativity. Beginning in summer theater camp at the age of 13, her smooth handling of Shakespeare eventually led her to enroll in theater studies at York University.
