Jennifer Overton recieved a Master's Degree in Theatre Performance from York University. She has managed to split her time between acting in film and televison, and teaching at several theater departments at universities across Canada. In 1997 her 4 year old son was diagnosed with Autism. Her experience as a mother of an autistic child lead her to write about how the condition affected her family. Her book Snapshots of Autism: A Family Album, is a collection of writing that were first aired on Radio Canada.
