Heidi von Palleske is an honours graduate from the George Brown College Theatre Programme in Toronto. Her starring role in 1993's Ramona won her a best actress award at the Spanish International Film Festival and the critic's choice award at the Montreal Film Festival. In addition to acting, she has written and hosted a radio program for Talk 640. A published poet, von Palleske won the H. R. Percy award for best novel manuscript in Eastern Canada, the Toronto Short Story Competition, a Toronto Arts Council award and an Ontario Arts Council award for her fiction writing. She has also written for television and the stage.
