Teresa Pavlinek started her professional career as a member of The Toronto Second City. While still in university she was chosen by the late Tim Sims to join the Second City Touring Company. After a couple of years honing her improv comedy skills she was promoted to the Second City Mainstage where she wrote and performed three ground breaking shows - all nominated for Dora Mavor Moore Awards. Pavlinek once told an interviewer that her biggest claim to fame was the fact she was the tallest comic actress after the late Bea Arthur. Starring in her own series, The Jane Show, may have replaced that claim by now.
