Béatrice Picard in a publicity still from the film, Ma tante Aline, in which she plays the title role of Aline St-Louis. When she was just 17 years old she left home to study drama at the Sorbonne in Paris. She appeared on stage with all of the major Québec theatre comanies. With a career dating back more than 60 years, Picard is often referred to reverently as "the grand dame" of Québec cinema. In addition to her work in front of the cameras, she is the voice of Marge in the French language version of the long-running TV series, Les Simpsons as well as in the 2007 movie.
