She graduated from Lord Byng High School in Vancouver, then attended the University of British Columbia for one semester before going to Hollywood and almost immediately landing a spot on the series Popular. She was given the Women in Film & Video Vancouver's Artistic Merit Award for her work in The Hamster Cage in 2005 and won the Leo Award for Best Supporting Actress for The Collector.
