DOUGLAS RAIN
b. 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba


Douglas Rain studied acting at the Banff School of Fine Arts in Alberta, and at the Old Vic School in England. Most often seen on stage, he has long been associated with Ontario's Stratford Festival as well as The Shaw Festival. Usually remembered as the voice of the computer, HAL, in the classic 1968 film, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
