James Rennie was both a stage and film actor, although his career on stage lasted far longer. His film debut came in 1920, one year after he appeared on Broadway in the play Moonlight and Honeysuckle. His last film appearance was in 1945, and by then he had also appared in some 27 Broadway plays. His last Broadway appearance was in 1957. The 1944 film, Wilson, tells the story of the U.S. President who had the idea to create the League of Nations. Wilson starred Alexander Knox in the title role. It went on to win five Academy Awards.
