Equally at home on stage as he is in front of the cameras, a few of Tom Rooney's stage credits include the role of Hamlet at the National Arts Centre, Tom in The Glass Managerie, Joe Pitt in Angels in America, and Wilbur in the hit musical Hairspray at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre. In March of 2005 he was appearing in My Mother's Feet at the CanStage Berkeley Theatre in Toronto, Ontario. He received a Betty in 1998 for his work in Grace, staged for the Alberta Theatre Projects. He was nominated for a Gemini for his work in the series, This is Wonderland.
