Andrea Roth grew up as a first generation Canadian, the daughter of Dutch and Scottish parents. She wanted to be an actor from a very young age and made her first theatrical appearance in Helen Keller Miracle Worker when she was just 11 years old. While attending college and interning at a Toronto-based advertising agency, she was approached by a top modeling scout and began to pursue a career as a print and runway model. She used her experience there to quickly move into acting. Her television and film career started with an appearance on Alfred Hitchcock Presents in 1985. Her big break came when she costarred with Sally Field in the mini-series A Woman Of Independent Means. She plays the role of Janet Gavin in the TV series, Rescue Me.
