Devon Edward Sawa started acting on stage when he was 11. At 14, he was the spokesperson in a commercial for Kenner's Nerf Toys. He had a small role in the Canadian fantasy series The Odyssey, and a larger role in KidZone, a Canadian docudrama about high school, which aired in the United States as Kerrisdale High. He extended his profile in the US with a guest-starring role on Lonesome Dove for CBS. His first film role was as the quarterback in 1994's Little Giants and then in 1995 he appeared in Casper and Now and Then, both opposite Christina Ricci. Look for him in the indie film, Random Walk, and in the US thriller Endure, costarring Judd Nelson, Clare Kramer and Joey Lauren Adams. Endure, which is scheduled for release later this year, opens when police find a man dead behind the wheel of a vehicle crash on a desolate rural road. Inside they find a photo of a terrified young woman tied to a tree. The plot revolves around efforts by a small-town detective to determine the woman's identity and find her alive in the 560,000 acres of the Green Swamp. Sawa plays a college-educated, smart-ass young detective from Nashville who has been assigned to help the local police unravel the identity and whereabouts of the woman.
