Amanda Tapping on the right as Samantha Carter from the Stargate series. Tapping moved to Toronto at the age of 3 and grew up wanting to perform. She graduated from the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Art and has appeared on stage in Steel Magnolias, Look Back in Anger, Children of A Lesser God, Noises Off, The Lion in Winter and The Shadow Walkers. She joined forces with Sanctuary creator Damian Kindler and Stargate Producer Martin Wood to fund what was originally a Web series. Its online popularity brought it to the attention of the Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada and the Syfy network in the United States. Tapping plays Dr. Helen Magnus on Sanctuary.
