Although Marie Turgeon dreamed of being a doctor, she studied ballet all through her childhood and became a semi-professional dancer. In college she studied drama and when she was 20 applied to the department of Theatre and Communications at the University of Ottawa. With two degrees under her belt, Turgeon continued acting in Ottawa for a couple of years but then moved to Toronto where she spent six years working before returning to Montreal.
