Laura Vandervoort
b. September 22, 1984 in Toronto, Ontario

Laura Vandervoort graduated from York Mills Collegiate Institute in North York, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto. She began acting when she was 13-years-old but admits to always performing for her friends and family when she was growing up. She took some lessons and then appeared as an extra, or "background" actor on a number of Canadian series. She was given a few lines in Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark, and her career began to evolve. Some work in commercials and then a few guest spots on various tv shows led to Vandervoort landing thea leading role of Sadie Harrison on the CTV series, Instant Star, which ran for four seasons. From one hit series to another, she played the role of Supergirl on the hit CW series, Smallville, pictured above on the right. She costars with Tahmoh Pinikett on the new Riverworld sci-fi series.
