The 2002 film, Spanked: The Ron Friendly Story won both the Best Short Film and Best Screenplay at The Nickel Independent Film Festival in 2003. The short drama Three Mothers, from writer-director Daniel Schachter was the first short film to be shot in Québec using the new RED camera. It was the winner of the 2007 SODEC-FNC Court écrire ton court screenwriting competition.
