Caye Vivian Chernin also appeared as Lorraine Sinclair. She began her career as one of the cast members in Goin’ Down The Road in 1970 and went on to work as an actor, producer/director, writer and teacher. Her one-woman show, based on Erica Jong’s Fear of Flying debuted at the Toronto Fringe Festival. She also did an Equity Showcase production of Mephisto and enjoyed a variety of roles in a few but highly diverse movies, including playing the out of touch but not out of reach heroine in Anita Doron’s Not A Fish Story, an acclaimed short film. Chernin also produced and wrote a number of award-winning independent videos including the Children’s Broadcast Award winner, The Party’s Over. Her career was bookended by two Don Shebib films, Goin’ Down the Road in 1970, and Down the Road Again. Chernin was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in June of 2010 but kept the news to herself during the filming of Down the Road Again until shooting on the feature wrapped.
