Robert Joseph Farnon was a musician before turning to arranging and composing. He became a regular on the long-running CBC radio series The Happy Gang between 1937 and 1943. He then headed to Europe during the war as Musical Director of the Army Show. At the end of W.W.II he decided to stay in England and became a conductor, composer and arranger for the BBC. In addition to composing for film he also arranged music for such well-known singers as Vera Lynn, Lena Horne and Frank Sinatra.
