Yves-Christian Fournier started his career as an editor. He also worked as a commercial director and won the Best Director Créa award in 2006 for his campaign for the Québec Federation of Milk Producers. He made a number of short films before his first feature, Tout est parfait, which had its world premiere at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival as part of the Panorama program.
