Danis Goulet was raised in northern Saskatchewan and now lives in Toronto. Her 2005 short Divided by Zero premiered in 2006 at the Message Sticks Film Festival at the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and her short Spin premiered in 2004 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Prior to joining Toronto's imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, where she is Executive Director, Goulet worked as a casting director on numerous film productions, as well as for the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation and for the Canadian video distribution company V Tape. Her 2010 film, Wapawekka
screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and was selected for for the short film competition at the Native Showcase, part of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
