Vincenzo Natali moved with his family to Toronto when he was about 1 year old. Natali 2009 film, Splice, released in 2010, was nominated for Genie Awards for Best Motion Picture, Best Director and Best Editing but was overwhelmed, as were most films, by Denis Villeneuve's Incendies.
