Martin Villeneuve

b. March 13, 1978 in Gentilly, Québec

Martin Villeneuve showed an interest in writing and drawing at an early age and attended the college Jean de Brebeuf from 1995 to 1997. It was here that he made his first foray in photography and cinema. Later he moved on to Concordia University to study film and the Université du Québec à Montréal to study graphic design. He spent three years as an art director at the Sid Lee Agency working for clients like Cirque du Soleil. He helped create advertising campaigns for shows like Zumanity, KÀ and Corteo. Going freelance in 2005, he directed the TV advertising for the Cirque du Soleil shows Delirium and Saltimbanco. Martin Villeneuve is also an author. He created both volumes of the graphic novel Mars et Avril (cover shown below) on which his sci-fi/fantasy film is based, as well as the comic book La voix du tonnerre.
