Rosemary Dunsmore began acting professionally soon after graduating from York University in 1973, touring in Cedric Smith and George Luscombe’s Depression-era play Ten Lost Years in 1975. She divides her professional time between acting for film and television and the stage, directing for the stage and teaching acting. She received the Masque Award for her performance in Wit in Montreal, the first English speaking actress to be given this honour and was chosen for Maclean`s Magazine Honour Roll as a “Canadian who makes a difference” in 1990. Dunsmore was given an ACTRA Toronto Award in 2009 for her work in the film, The Baby Formula.
