Mandel currently serves as a judge on NBC hit summer talent competition series, America’s Got Talent, now in its 11th season.
“I’m thrilled to be hosting the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards. I don’t only look at it as honouring the best in Canadian entertainment, but more importantly, I am so excited about the free trip home!” said Mandel.
“I am delighted to have one of our national treasures as our host. His unscripted hilarity and unbridled energy will make this show unmissable,” stated Barry Avrich, Producer, Canadian Screen Awards 2017.
The Canadian Screen Awards will be broadcast on CBC from the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in downtown Toronto on March 12, 2017.
“We’re proud to, once again, partner with CBC as the official broadcaster of the Canadian Screen Awards to celebrate the best in screen-based storytelling”, said Beth Janson, new CEO of the Academy.
