Nancy Bacon is a financial consultant in Alberta, Canada. Her son is autistic and in an effort to raise money and awareness of Autism, she organized a fund-raising bike ride through the Rocky Mountains from Calgary to Vancouver, 1,000 kilometres away. Her friends Brad Bianchin, a bar owner, and Pat MacEachern, an actor, decided to join the effort. Over the 7-day trip they faced bad weather, dangerous traffic and personal injury, but it is their friendship that is severely tested when Nancy's knee gives out on Day 6 of the The Western Ride for Autism.
