Good Neighbours (2010)

<Good Neighbours, movie still>

Jacob Tierney based his screenplay on the novel Chère Voisine (Dear Neighbour) by award-winning writer Christine Brouillet. Set in a typical Montréal winter, it is just after the 1995 referendum on Québec independance. In the quaint neighbourhood of Notre Dame de Grâce or NDG, just west of downtown Montréal, a serial killer is on the loose. The central plot revolves around three tenants in an apartment block who share a peculiar triangle of intrigue and romance, all watched over by a landlady who hears voices. Good Neighbours started out as Notre Dame de Grâce then briefly became Neighbours, before being finally named Good Neighbours.
