Academy Updates Covid-19 Response

(March 11, 2020 – Toronto,ON) As Canadian Screen Week draws near and COVID-19 continues to dominate the headlines, The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television has updated its information regarding its response to the coronavirus outbreak, restating their commitment to making events as safe as possible.
The Academy continues to remain in close contact with all levels of government about the situation, and using risk assessment tools provided by the Federal government, they have determined that the majority of Canadian Screen Week events hold a low risk for attendees:
If you are planning on attending any of the awards galas or other events the Academy asks:
If you feel unwell to any degree, please stay home;
refrain from shaking hands, kissing or hugging at the events;
wash your hands often. There will be hand sanitizing stations at all events.
Of special note: Because of the presence of young children and the “meet and greet” format, it has been determined that the Family Fan Day event poses a higher risk than other Screen Week events and it will be postponed. The Academy hopes to announce a new date for Family Fan Day in the near future.
The Academy suggests you read the How To Protect Yourself section and others on this City of Toronto website.
