Alan Zweig Talks About Hope

17

(May 6, 2017 – Toronto, ON) Sometimes it’s the only thing we have left. Sometimes it is the only thing that keeps us going. Sometimes it is a destination. When it was suggested to Toronto director Alan Zweig that he make a sequel to his 2015 film, Hurt, about the once celebrated runner Steve Fonyo, he wasn’t sure at first. The result is a film titled Hope that picks up where the first film left off.

In this 18-minute conversation with Northernstars Founder and Publisher, Ralph Lucas, Alan Zweig discusses how the film was made, what it was like to work with a sometimes difficult subject and his thoughts on if there should be a third film on Steve Fonyo sometime in the future.

Hope will have its final screening at Hot Docs today at 12:30PM at the TIFF Bell Lightbox 1.
