Nathaniel Arcand is a Plains Cree (Nehiyaw) from the Alexander First Nation Reserve. Bitten by the acting bug at just 5 years of age when he saw a Bruce Lee movie, he was discovered by a talent agent and two weeks later he had his first professional job. He had acted in school before that. A small break came when he was cast in the role of Tree-Climber in 1994’s Savage Land but it wasn’t until he landed a role in the television series North of 60, playing William MacNeil, that his career really took off. In 1997, he was nominated for a Gemini Award in the category “Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series” for the North of 60 episode Traces and Tracks. The comedy-drama Two Indians Talking won the 2010 Vancouver International Film Festival Most Popular Canadian Film Award. He is best known for playing the role of Scott Cardinal in 85 episodes of Heartland between 2007 and 2018. Look for him in the role of Clinton Skye in the 2020 series FBI: Most Wanted. |
