B: April 16, 1964 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
Boyd Banks decided he had had it with high school so he cashed in a lot of empties, bought a very used car and dropped out to pursue a career in show business. He was just 17 years old. Having won a contest for Best Stand-Up Comedian in Edmonton, Alberta, Boyd was encouraged and after spending a few years doing comedy in Vancouver and working in the Yuk Yuk`s circuit, he left in 1991 deciding he wanting to concentrate on acting. He now makes his home in Toronto.
