George Bloomfield was a highly experienced theatre, television and film director. After postgraduate work in psychology and philosophy at McGill University, he began his career at the NFB in 1957, but he didn’t stay there long. From 1963 to 1968, he wrote, directed, and produced some of the best dramas for the CBC for the prestigious Festival series. Bloomfield also had a role in front of the cameras in the 1986 feature, And Then You Die. Bloomfield died after a 30 year battle with heart disease, diabetes, cancer and kidney disease. |
