B: 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba
After graduating with an English degree from the University of Alberta, Martha Burns joined the Vancouver Playhouse school, where she honed her talent appearing in plays like Romeo and Juliet. In 1979, she went onto the National Arts Centre, where she won her first Dora Award for her exceptional performance in Trafford Tanzi. In 1983 she was cast as an Indian princess in the play Walsh and found herself co-starring with Paul Gross. Five years after they first met, they married. More than 30 years later, in 2015, they would appear together again on stage in the Bruce Norris hit comedy, Domesticated. Also see: Hannah Gross |
