Noel Burton is pictured in a publicity still from the film A Silent Love. Born in Wales, he came to Canada in 1960, studied theatre at the University of British Columbia from 1963 to 1968. His first professional engagement was in 1968 for the Vancouver Playhouse in James Reaney’s Listen to the Wind. He returned to Great Britain in 1970 and worked on stage, radio, film & television. He continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London from 1972 to 1973. He acted in English repertory theatre appearing in everything from Medieval Mystery Plays through to Shakespeare and musicals. In the 2016 docudrama, Pearl Harbor: The Accused, he played the role of American President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Kiefer Sutherland plays the same role in 10 episodes of the 2022 series The First Lady. Gillian Anderson plays his wife and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. |
