Cairo Time is a romance about a brief, unexpected love affair that catches two people off-guard. It tells the story of Juliette (Patricia Clarkson), a woman in her mid-40s who is looking forward to catching up with her husband (Tom McCamus) and having some vacation time together in the city where he works for the United Nations. But when she arrives in Cairo, she is deeply disappointed to learn that he has been delayed on business in Gaza. In his place he has sent a close friend, Tareq (Alexander Sidddig), a retired Egyptian police officer, to pick her up and show her around Cairo. Shot in and around the title city, Cairo Time is a Canada-Ireland coproduction.
